Gonzalo Higuain-Napoli

The Argentinian striker is no stranger to Premier League fans given his international career. What English fans might not realize, is that Higuain is on an absolute tear in Serie A this season. Premier League clubs in need of a world-class striker should be banging on Napoli’s door.

Higuain is actually the highest rated Serie A player this season via Whoscored.com with a rating of 7.9 in 15 matches. Did I mention that he also has 14 goals in that same time frame? He’s been on fire and has his Napoli side on top of the league. He is doing everything he can to bring their fans a title.

In many ways, he’s the ideal centre forward. He can hold the ball up, shoot from distance and isn’t afraid to put in the occasional challenge. There aren’t many clubs in England where he wouldn’t walk straight into the starting lineup upon his arrival.

There are questions about Higuain’s ability to play under pressure though. Some even refer to him regularly as a choke artist. Some Premier League fans might even think he’d fold under the pressure of a tight game late in the season. I must admit, I’d worry about that if my club acquired him, but his prodigious talent combined with his current form make him well worth the risk.

He’d be very difficult to pry away from Napoli at this point, but Premier League fans searching for a striker (I’m looking at you Arsenal) couldn’t do much better than the Argentinian hit man.
