Alejandro Gomez-Atalanta

Now for an Argentinian player that Premier League fans aren’t nearly as familiar with. Alejandro Gomez has also been tearing up Serie A on the season for his club, Atalanta. His sparkling play from the left-wing has lifted the club to 7th place in the Serie A to date.

Gomez is not a talent that would fit every Premier League team. He isn’t a striker by any stretch of the imagination, so he’s only suited to play out wide for a team that is comfortable playing him as a traditional winger. He is great on the ball and is a serious threat to whip dangerous crosses into the box. For a team that has a target man starved for service, Gomez could be an ideal fit.

He’s managed to chip in four goals and three assists on the season for Atalanta and has the third-highest Whoscored.com rating for the season at 7.54. It’s by far the best season of his career and it’s worth noting that he’s never played outside of Serie A. Any Premier League club that purchased him would have to be patient, but the end reward might be something very special.

Gomez could be had much cheaper than a lot of wide options from the world’s best leagues because Atalanta could likely be blown away with a big financial offer. I wouldn’t expect to see him in the Premier League come January, but it’d be a sign of excellent scouting if someone did snap him up.
