Simone Zaza-Juventus

The 24-year-old Italian striker has talent, but has quite a few players in front of him at Juventus. He’s no stranger to a rumored Premier League move and this might be the transfer window where it finally comes off. After all, no Premier League club can ever have too much firepower up top.

The truth is, I’m not nearly as high on Zaza as a lot of other scouts and pundits. I think he has loads of talent, but he never seems to be able to put it all together out there on the pitch. It doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be excited to see my club after him if I was in the bottom half of the League because I certainly would. It just signifies my belief that he isn’t a difference maker at a top four club.

He’s got a lot of offensive talent, but sometimes he just tries to make the game too complicated. He is always willing to try the extraordinary pass when sometimes, the ordinary one will net his team a goal. He is a good finisher though and his willingness to try anything offensively does put a lot of troubling thoughts in the minds of opposing defenders.

He would represent an upgrade at striker for nearly all of the teams that are still flirting with Premier League relegation. They’d be well served to call Juventus to see if they are willing to deal him on the cheap. Any team higher than that should be very cautious when bidding for this enigmatic striker.
