4. Zenit
We know that Zenit is going to have a managerial opening at the end of the season. Don’t forget that former Tottenham manager Andrew Villas-Boas has already informed the club that he’ll be leaving at the end of the season. They should give a strong look at Mourinho as AVB’s replacement.
Zenit isn’t exactly firing on all cylinders at the moment, so it’s even possible that the Russian Club might be inspired to move for Mourinho before AVB’s scheduled departure. They currently sit fourth in the Russian Premier League table and that has to be a disappointment for the defending league champions.
Mourinho could inherit a roster that’s flush with talent as well. Led by Hulk who’s been on fire this season, the squad is blessed with quality throughout the starting 11. There’s enough talent to more than make up the seven point gap between Zenit and CSKA.
Zenit is a high pressure club that has the resources to win the Russian Premier League. They just need a manager who can provide the squad a system to maximize their talent. That definitely sounds like Mourinho. He’d be the perfect follow-up to AVB for the Russian giants.
