Rumors are running rampant that former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will be the next Manchester United boss. If it happens, who should he try to bring to Old Trafford?

Candidly, I have no idea if there’s any real truth to the rumors that Manchester United are having serious internal discussions about sacking Louis Van Gaal and bringing in Jose Mourinho. It may be a whole lot of nothing or it might be award-winning journalism, we just don’t know at this point.

At any rate, it’s a safe bet that if Mourinho does take the reins at United there will be some significant roster turnover. “The Special One” will want to quickly remake the squad into his own image and that won’t happen if the majority of Van Gaal’s recruits stay in prominent roles. As such, you’d expect Mourinho to move quickly to bring in some new recruits that he might be more familiar with. Mourinho is not one to sit around and wait for player development. He will want instant results.

If Mourinho does take over at United the January transfer window will be fast and furious for his new club. Here are five players that might be on Mourinho’s list if he makes his shocking return to the Premier League. As always, let me know what you think of these ideas in the comments field below.
