1. Charlie Austin-QPR

Charlie Austin is a familiar name for Premier League fans, but it’s high time that he makes his way back to England’s top-flight. We can all admire his loyalty to QPR, but he’s wasting his talent in the Championship. Fortunately for Austin and his fans, his contract is almost up.

There is a great deal of debate on just “how good” the QPR striker is. Austin fans point to his goal-scoring record in the Premier League as clear evidence that he can play for anyone. Detractors point out that his efforts weren’t enough to keep QPR in the top-flight so he might not be suited to play at top four clubs.

I think he’s got the talent to play for anyone in the Premier League. He’s a hard worker who is a terrific finisher and no team can ever have enough guys with those two qualities. Honestly, I’m amazed that no Premier League club has blown QPR away with an offer to bring Austin back to the top-flight before now. Some of this is due to Austin’s concern for his family, of course, but it still amazes me.

At any rate, with QPR looking destined to stay in the Championship next season Austin is going to need to make a career move. I can’t see him moving anywhere other than the Premier League. The only question is which club he’ll pick s the right fit for his talent and his family.
