Real Madrid should outbid Barcelona for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey
Gareth Bale is important enough to Real Madrid that they should do everything they can to make him feel at home. Outbidding Barcelona for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could do just that for the Welsh attacker.
The Express is reporting that Barcelona is confident of securing Ramsey with a bid of somewhere between 50 and 60 million pounds this summer. There’s no way that their La Liga rivals should let this happen.
Stories of Gareth Bale’s struggle to feel totally comfortable at Real Madrid pop up on a regular basis. It makes you think there must, at least, be a shred of truth in them. What better way to make him feel right at home than to purchase his Welsh teammate?

If they aggressively outbid Barcelona for Ramsey they could accomplish two great things for their club in one transaction. They could rob Barcelona of one of their reported top transfer targets and also give Bale a confidant at the club. It’s really a no brainer for Los Blancos.
There’s also the added benefit that Ramsey could help Real Madrid on the field. Their current midfield lineup of Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos has been good, but not great on the year. Add in the rumored sale of Kroos to Chelsea and there’s certainly room for Ramsey to contribute.
It’s not as if he needs to be a starter for the club every week to justify the deal. Even at that big price tag, if he can contribute to the squad regularly and help Bale feel more comfortable it will be money very well spent.
With Cristiano Ronaldo getting older, there shouldn’t be any bigger priority for the Spanish giants than making sure Bale is ready to take up the mantle as their main man. Adding his international teammate to the squad to play behind him could do wonders to make sure Bale stays at the club for the long haul. It would help his performance on the pitch and his mood off the field.
Some might say that a player of Bale’s ability shouldn’t need the club’s help to feel more comfortable. After all, he’s been given a huge contract and tons of playing time and freedom on the pitch. While all of that’s true, it doesn’t mean that Real Madrid shouldn’t be attentive to Bale’s emotional wellbeing.
Instead, the amount of resources they’ve invested in Bale is all the more reason they should spend the money to bring Ramsey in. They need to spend whatever is necessary to ensure the success of their most valuable player.
Barcelona may be the favorites to land Arsenal and Welsh star Aaron Ramsey this summer, but Real Madrid shouldn’t let that move go through. He’d be much more valuable to Los Blancos as a teammate for fellow Welshman Gareth Bale.
