4. Sell Marouane Fellaini

Just as the merciful thing to do is to put down a horse that is lame, so too would the merciful thing be to give Marouane Fellaini a move away from Manchester United. Things just aren’t working for him in the Premier League and a fresh start would do him good.

Louis van Gaal has tried everything to get the most out of the enigmatic Belgian. He’s deployed him as a midfielder and a striker at times this season. Nothing seems to be working though as Fellaini has been largely ineffective in both roles.

It seems like ages ago where he was a young star for Everton and it’s clear he isn’t going to rediscover that form for United. Perhaps a move somewhere abroad can help him kick-start his failing career

The good news for United fans is that there would still likely be significant interest in their midfielder. There have been consistent rumors of a potential move to Serie A that could suit everyone involved. Let’s hope there’s a merciful end for Fellaini’s time at the club.
