3. Buy Renato Sanches

Truthfully I have no idea whether or not Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches has the ability to impact Manchester United this season. What I do know, is that United fans need some attacking hope and purchasing a young prospect like Sanches would do just the trick.

Sanches has been linked with United heavily for most of the January window, but the Portuguese prospect comes with a hefty price tag. The Mirror reports that his contract includes an 80 million pound release clause and Benfica won’t be keen to let their starlet go for a fee much less than that.

More from Manchester United

Still, given United’s inability to land one of their other high-ceiling talents, it’s quite conceivable that they’ll go in for Sanches with a big offer. Again, Woodward and van Gaal need to sell hope to their fan base and nothing does that like spending big money on a young attacker.

This transfer may depend on what other business United is able to get done in January, but I wouldn’t be surprised a bit to see this come off in the hours leading up to Deadline Day.
