Arsenal don’t necessarily need to purchase Isco, but at the rumored price of 25 million pounds they’d be fools not to bring him in
When you look at Arsenal’s roster you certainly don’t come away thinking they need more attacking midfielders. However, if they’re able to purchase Real Madrid midfielder Isco for just 25 million pounds they have to pounce on it.
Goal.com is reporting that Real Madrid has let Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger know that Isco can be had for that bargain price. This rumor flies in the face of logic given the Spanish club’s upcoming transfer ban, but if true, should spur the Gunners into immediate action.
While Isco hasn’t been able to cement his place in the star-studded lineup of Los Blancos, he still has plenty of ability to break into the Arsenal lineup. In fact, he could slot right into one of Wenger’s biggest needs.

The right side of the attacking trio has been a trouble spot for Arsenal all season. Joel Campbell has played better there as of late, but he’s still too young to trust fully down the stretch. As luck would have it, Isco’s best games this year have come when he was deployed in just that position.
In his five La Liga starts as the right-sided attacking midfielder, he’s posted an impressive Whoscored.com rating of 7.54. This sort of performance would easily outpace Campbell in the Gunner lineup. In fact, it’d turn that spot on the pitch from a potential attacking weakness into a strength.

An attacking midfield trio of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Isco would be enough quality to strike terror in the hearts of opposing defenders. Their interchange and skill on the ball would be an absolute nightmare to defend. Sanchez and Ozil can be enough to deal with on their own, adding Isco would almost be unfair.
It would also allow Wenger more freedom to play Sanchez in a more attacking role. He could move up to play alongside or instead of classic front man Olivier Giroud. It would give Wenger significantly more lineup options to deploy down the stretch. That type of flexibility could be the difference between a Premier League title and another second-place finish for the Gunners.
Real Madrid might not really be willing to sell Isco for 25 million pounds, but if they are then Arsenal has to bring him in immediately. Getting a potentially game-changing player for that fee is something that Arsene Wenger and the Gunners can’t afford to pass up.
