5. Sell Kieran Gibbs

Arsenal have been heavily linked to young left-back Ben Chilwell in this window and that should tell you that Kieran Gibbs’ time at the club is close to an end. He’s been one of Arsenal’s worst-performing players on the season and at 26-years-old, it’s time for the Gunners to let him go.

Statistically speaking, Gibbs has been Arsenal’s second-worst player on the season per Whoscored.com. He is carrying a poor player rating of 6.31 in 12 Premier League appearances. It’s time for Wenger to give up on the athletic left-back.

Exchanging him, in effect, for Chilwell would be an excellent move for the Gunners. They could even profit from the move as Gibbs would likely command a larger transfer fee. Getting younger, cheaper and better at the same time is always a good transfer decision.

Nacho Monreal is the Gunners’ left-back of the present so it doesn’t make them weaker in the present either. Selling Gibbs would just represent a smart clearing of dead wood for the title contenders.
