4. Loan Mathieu Debuchy

Things for Debuchy just haven’t worked out at Arsenal. He joined the Gunners with high expectations in 18 months ago but his time at the Emirates has been plagued by injury. It’s best for all involved if he find a new club this January.

Debuchy has only made two appearances for Arsenal on the season and he’s unlikely to get any game time moving forward. Hector Bellerin has grabbed the right back position by the throat and isn’t going to relinquish it barring injury.

The French defender has hopes of getting back into the France squad in advance of Euro 2016 and is in desperate need of regular playing time. There are several Premier League teams who’d be more than willing to take him in on loan.

In particular, Sunderland and Aston Villa have chased him for much of the January window. A potential move to either club makes too much sense not to happen.

It’s a classic case of when the best interest of the player and team intersect. Arsenal has no use for Debuchy and he has no incentive to stay. Add this up and it equals an inevitable loan to another Premier League side.
