3 reasons why the likes of Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar play in La Liga rather than EPL

Time and time again the Premier League is titled ‘The Best League in the World’, but is it really the best? La Liga have for many years showcased the best talent in the world with the likes of Messi, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Zidane, Luis Figo and many more.

In this current era the 5 best attackers in world football are playing their football in Spain. Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Suarez and Gareth Bale are all up there as the best 5 attacking players in world football. If you look at some of the records Messi and Ronaldo alone have broken in recent years, it is amazing. The question is why do they not play in the apparent ‘best league in the world’?

Here are 3 reasons why the best attackers in world football choose La Liga over the Premier League:

Barcelona and Real Madrid –

These two footballing giants are easily the two best teams in the world and this gives them a huge attraction for the world’s best players. Over the years we have seen some of the most exciting talent go to these two teams and become some of the world’s best but, some have failed. 4 out of 5 of these players have made big moves to Barca and Madrid and so far the moves have paid off.

  • Money – Football in the modern era would be nothing without the extraordinary amounts of money that are involved. As the two biggest teams in the world they are able to pay world record transfer fees for players and pay them the highest wages. Yes you are probably thinking Manchester City can as well, but they haven’t got the huge stature and history of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

    • Following paths of legends –

    As each year goes by usually another La Liga player will win the Ballon D’or and a whole host of players will be in the team of the year. It is clear to see that La Liga is where the majority of the world’s best players showcase their best football. 12 out of the last 16 winners of the Ballon D’or have been from La Liga, this obviously makes it a huge attraction for the likes of Ronaldo, Bale and Suarez who have all made the move from the Premier League to La Liga

    Over the years we have seen Barcelona and Real Madrid dominate world football with Champions League wins and Club World Cup wins. Also, not just these footballing giants but Sevilla have proven they are up there with the best in Europe after back to back Europa League wins. Atletico Madrid have an extremely strong side it previous years, not forgetting that outstanding undoing of Chelsea back in 2012.
