Tottenham talisman Harry Kane was right to identify the club’s ridding of bad eggs as a key to their success

Harry Kane said out loud what all Tottenham fans already knew in their minds. Maurico Pochettino’s systematic ridding of the club’s “bad eggs” has helped Spurs reach new heights this season.

The Tottenham striker came out in the London Evening Standard with the revelation that the club was now rid of all the bad locker room influences that had plagued the club in year’s past. He credits the presence of “a bunch of good lads” as a key to Tottenham’s surprising success this season.

Those who have watched the club over the years certainly know that Kane is absolutely right. This year’s squad has a different steel than what fans have seen at White Hart lane in recent years. Part of that extra constitution has to be attributed to Pochettino’s philosophy, but a lot of it comes down to his ruthless personnel moves at the North London club.

I don’t say ruthless in a bad way either. Pochettino has a very clear idea of what he wants in a Spurs player and he’s been quick to move anyone who doesn’t buy-in to that philosophy away from the club. Sometimes that’s even meant the jettisoning of some of the club’s most talented players.

While Kane was too polite to name the bad eggs, I certainly am not. Read on as I reveal the identifies of the five worst bad eggs that the club has gotten rid of under Pochettino.
