4. Roberto Soldado

What can I say about the one and only Roberto Soldado, a fan favourite at White Hart Lane and always tried his best but it just never worked for him. He came from sunny Spain with a huge price tag on his back and the weight of expectation was huge.

Fair to say it got off to a really good start, scoring five goals in his first four games including friendlies. However, it was a downhill spiral from there and he was never able to continue goal scoring form. His lack of goals came to the humour of all football fans, except Tottenham fans, who stuck by him until the very end. But the amount of money they spent on Soldado was a club record at the time and he failed to deliver, meaning he goes down as a big failure during his time in the Premier League.

Unlike the previous 3 players mentioned, Soldado always kept his head up in the hard times and his attitude was amazing, which Pochettino has touched on before, this is maybe why he continued to be in and around the first team until the very end instead of being frozen out like the others.

He stayed very professional until the very end and his leaving message to the club and fans was nothing more than emotional. He had luck against him at Tottenham and he failed to be a success in English football.
