2. Nacer Chadli
Nacer Chadli was one of the low-key and most surprising signing in 2013 and he also struggled to make an immediate impact in England after his move from FC Twente. The Belgian winger was Tottenham’s third signing of a player from the Belgian national team in recent years.
He failed to light up the Premier League at all during his first few months and a few niggling injuries halted his progress. However, a stunning goal away to Newcastle towards the back-end of his first season kicked started his Tottenham career. Last season he was a vital part of the Tottenham starting team throughout the season and one of the highest goal scorers in the team, including a double against QPR in the first home game of last season.
Now he has made over 100 appearances and has become a very important part of Pochettino’s Tottenham team, scoring 23 goals so far, he has proved to be a goal threat. With the lack of a recognised second striker behind Harry Kane, Pochettino has identified Chadli as ideal back up for Tottenham’s star man. He always has a goal in him and could prove vital in the run in this season for Tottenham.
