Saturday April 16th – Chelsea vs Manchester City

The first meeting between these two giants appeared to be a display of the gulf in fortunes of these two clubs this season. Chelsea FC were clearly on the downturn under Jose Mourinho and City looked like world beaters. The Citizens took Chelsea behind the woodshed and beat them 3-0 and it was not even that close.

Things have changed a bit since then. City have faltered and allowed Leicester City to go five points clear at the top by putting in a poor performance against the Foxes last weekend. With their vast resources and undeniable talent, City should be frontrunners in a title race that has only had two true contenders at any time, with Spurs making a late push to become the third.

This matchup could determine whether or not City can make a late push in to the title race and heap some more pressure on to Leicester. City’s match against Spurs this weekend will be just as vital but it comes a full three months before the final match of the season so there are still many points to play for.
