Saturday April 30th – Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur

Sitting second in the table just five points behind Leicester City, Tottenham have been one of the stories of the season. Their brilliance has only been overshadowed by the Foxes fairy tale season but were this any other Premier League campaign, Spurs would be the talk of the town.

They are a young and dynamic side featuring loads of young English talent such as Harry Kane, Delle Alli, and Eric Dier, and play an exciting brand of football. Spurs use pace and power to overcome opponents while also showcasing brilliance in front of goal from the likes of Alli and Christian Eriksen. They play the way Southampton did under Mauricio Pochettino but with more steel in front of keeper Hugo Lloris.

Many expect Spurs to fade in the final weeks of the season, especially with their Europa League commitments returning soon, but Pochettino could justify throwing in the towel in Europa to chase the league title. Spurs look like legitimate locks for the top four at this point and a trip to Stamford Bridge could justify or throw doubt on their credentials.

They famously defeated the Blues 5-3 last season in a match that many point to as a the breaking point between Mourinho and his players so they will look to heap more misery on their local rivals. Their first match this season was a lethargic 0-0 draw but with a title or Champions League place on the line, Spurs may throw caution to the wind and aim for the kill.
