Sunday May 15th – Chelsea vs Leicester City

My oh my what a story this could turn out to be. If Leicester continue on their current form then this match could simply be a coronation for the Foxes with Chelsea giving them the customary honor guard. If they falter a bit, the title decider could take place at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans could face the prospect of rooting for their team to beat Leicester, and see Arsenal or Spurs crowned champions, or doing the unthinkable and hoping for them to lose to avoid the banter from Gooners and Spurs supporters alike. There are also the added wrinkles of Leicester being Mourinho’s last match in charge and Claudio Ranieiri lifting the Premier League trophy at the ground where he was shunted aside to make room for The Special One.

It would be a fitting end to a wild season if Leicester do need a win to clinch the title but it would be silly to bet against the Foxes after they have been so incredible thus far. However the title could be decided a few weeks or so before that.

After the Arsenal match this weekend, Leicester play only four more clubs in the top 10 and none inside the top four. They will face some relegation candidates in Newcastle, Sunderland, and Swansea but the others could be more straightforward matches against clubs that are safe from relegation and too far out of contention for a European place.
