10. Four starting caliber fullbacks

Playing either right or left-back for a Mauricio Pochettino managed club requires a ton of energy. It might be the most demanding position on the pitch for Spurs. That’s why it’s vital that Tottenham has two viable options to start matches at each position.

At right-back, Kyle Walker and Kevin Trippier give Pochettino two distinctly different choices to put in the starting 11. Walker has the athleticism and physicality to cope with anyone in the Premier League. He locked Raheem Sterling up against Manchester City last weekend which served as a reminder of his supreme ability.

Trippier, who had the match winner the week before versus Watford, gives the Spurs offense a real threat from out-wide. He crosses the ball into the box often and effectively, much to the delight of Harry Kane. He isn’t quite the defender that Walker is, but he does his job on that end of the pitch as well.

The left-back position has great competition as well. Danny Rose and Ben Davies have been locked in a battle all season long to determine who the starter is at that spot. The answer, at this point, is neither one. Both deserve to play significant minutes.

Rose can lead Tottenham to victory with sheer well and determination. He isn’t afraid to battle anyone in the league and plays with exceptional courage. Davies, is much more conservative, but also quite effective. He plays a great ball in from the left flank and has great positional awareness to aid the Spurs defense. It’s really an embarrassment of riches for Pochettino.

Tottenham is lucky to have four full backs who they can start at any time. It keeps them fresh in the position that requires the most fitness under Pochettino.
