6. Hugo Lloris

Other Premier League keepers get a lot more headlines than Hugo Lloris, but there might not be a better one in the Premier League. His ability to serve as a “sweeper keeper” and excellent shot-stopping abilities can keep Tottenham in matches even against the run of play.

Fortunately for Spurs, he hasn’t had to stand on his head and be a hero quite as much this season as usual. He’s got a lot more help in front of him which has greatly reduced the number of tough saves he’s required to make.

Still, it’s a huge plus to know that he’s back there for your side. He can keep Tottenham in matches even when they are playing poorly. You never know when that might come up huge to save points for Spurs as they are headed down the stretch.

Lloris also serves as the Spurs captain, which only goes to prove further his importance to the club. It’s tough to be a leader when you aren’t an out field player, but Lloris takes on that role even from the six-yard box. He is the calm in the occasional storm of the Tottenham dressing room.

Tottenham fans wouldn’t trade Hugo Lloris for any other keeper in the Premier League, and neither would his Spurs teammates. He could be the difference between Premier League glory and second place when the season is over.
