1. They have the lead

I’m quite tired of reading pundits and fans claim that Leicester is at some sort of disadvantage since they aren’t chasing the Premier League title. There’s no better position to occupy than the top of the league table.

Even with the gut-wrenching loss to Arsenal, they still are two points clear of the Gunners and Spurs at the top. They still control their own destiny as it relates to the league title. None of their competitors can claim that honor.

It is true that the only time being on top of the Premier League truly matters is at the end of the season. Still, it’s easier to get there if you have a two-point head start. Leicester has earned those extra points and may very well need them to finish the season on top.

Fans of Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City will convince themselves that their sides have an advantage because they’re the hunters. That’s just a rationalization, having the most points is always best.
