5. Gary Cahill
The arrival of Simeone at Chelsea would spell the end of Gary Cahill’s career at Stamford Bridge. He may be out no matter who the next boss is, but the 30-year-old defender would certainly be headed out the door if Simeone takes over.

Cahill has been a below average centre back for the Blues this season so his departure wouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. He’s been forced into regular duty because of injuries to John Terry and Kurt Zouma, but the results haven’t been that good. His Whoscored.com player rating of 6.75 in 14 Premier League appearances illustrates his slightly below average play.
Simeone is first and foremost a defensive coach, so he’ll want to have two well above-average centre backs at the heart of his defense. Zouma, provided he can come back from his injury, can man one spot, but I’d expect to see at least two more centre backs purchased by Chelsea this summer.
Cahill has had a solid Chelsea career, but it’s likely going to end after this season no matter what. He certainly doesn’t have the quality Simeone would require at this point in his career and as such, would be quickly ushered out the door.
