When Real Madrid need him most, Ronaldo showed up

When Real Madrid needed him most, Cristiano Ronaldo produced a moment of pure magic. The star player from Portugal took the ball on the left flank with only Alessandro Florenzi standing between him and the goal. Ronaldo calmly took the ball, cut right, and just casually curled it, and thanks to a deflection by Florenzi, in to the top corner of the net. Roma keeper Wojciech Szczęsny had no chance as Real Madrid scored a crucial away goal and seemed to take control of the tie with that goal.

Having been often criticized for not being able to score away from home, Ronaldo had a brilliant performance against Roma and showed once again that he is one of the best players in the world. He took a Madrid team that looked out of sync and out of touch in the first half and with a simple kick changed all of that. The goal seemed to give the whole team confidence that they used for the rest of the game.

After a few weeks of struggling, he looked like the Ronaldo of old and that is a scary sign for any team that will be facing Madrid in the coming weeks.
