10. Tim Krul – Newcastle United

Newcastle goalkeeper, Tim Krul has been very unlucky not to get further into the top ten as he is a very, very good keeper and has shown this consistently over the past few seasons with a number of fine displays. However a string over injuries has meant he hasn’t played a great deal this season, but nonetheless, he is still one of the best keepers in the league.

Krul, who has had 23 league clean sheets for Newcastle, came through the youth system and worked his way into the first team during their season in the Championship and since has proved to be one of the top keepers in the league. At the age of just 27, Krul has still got a long career ahead of him both with the Dutch national team and with Newcastle, however injuries have been a problem for him in his career. If he is able to stay injury free he can be a huge success.

His most notable moment in recent years was his cameo appearance in the 2014 World Cup, when he was subbed on by Louis Van Gaal in the 120th minute against Costa Rica for the penalty shoot-out. He ended up saving two personalities and guiding Holland to the semi final, however he did not play in the semi final.

Krul has built up a name as a shot stopper in his career and he lives up to this name with outstanding performances keeping his goal safe. Personally, I hope Tim Krul does recapture his good form because he is a joy to watch.
