8. Fraser Forster – Southampton

Another keeper that finds himself unlucky to not be higher up in the standings and again it is due to a long-term injury. Southampton’s Fraser Forster is proving that he is a fantastic goalkeeper once again on his return from injury after showing some great form in recent weeks, including five straight clean sheets in the Premier League.

Forster started his playing career with Newcastle, but after impressive loan spells with Celtic, he moved to Scotland and was a vital part of Celtic’s title-winning teams and their famous win against Barcelona, where he displayed a man of the match performance. However, since Rangers got relegated down the leagues Scottish football has gone very flat, so Forster made the move all the way down south to Southampton and he has been a huge part of their success in the past two seasons.

It has not gone unnoticed that Southampton have missed his big presence in-goal, as they had been struggling so far this season until Forster came back just at the turn of Christmas and has been a huge part of their quiet climb of the table. A number of match winning displays from Forster has put him back in contention for England and some are even saying he could push Joe Hart for the number one spot.
