2. Barcelona
It’s hard to imagine any team that has been linked to more midfielders than Barcelona. The Catalan club has been linked to the likes of Paul Pogba, Marco Veratti, and now you can add Gundogan to that list.

Barcelona already have a solid starting trio of midfielders with Andres Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic, and Sergio Busquets but Gundogan could be vital to squad depth if he made a move to the Camp Nou. He could play box to box like Rakitic or be more of a defensive help like Busquets for Barcelona. He would also be apart of the most dominant club in Europe right now and would certainly get playing time as Luis Enrique loves to rotate his players in the squad.
But there are also numerous problems with him possibly moving to the Catalan club. First off, they are really deep in the midfield as they already have the likes of Arda Turan, Sergi Roberto, and Rafinha as the rotation players. Gundogan would find playing time but he might not get as much as he would like to.
There is also problems financially for the club as they may not be able to sign their deadly trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar to contract extensions due to insufficient funds. Signing Gundogan would only add to the problems on the wage bill.
Although Gundogan could make the move to a winning club like Barcelona, the problems he will face are gigantic.
