4. Paulo Dybala

As you’ll recall, I mentioned in the opening that Manchester United is reported to have plenty of money to spend this summer. It’s a good thing, because purchasing someone like Juventus striker Paulo Dybala might require an enormous bid.

The Argentine striker has been magnificent for Juve this season. He’s poured in 13 goals and eight assists in just 25 appearances for the Serie A leaders. His Whoscored.com player rating for the season trials only Paul Pogba. At just 22 years of age, he’s also clearly a star for the future. It’s easy to see why Juve would resist any bid for their young striker with great vigor.

Unfortunately for Juventus, Manchester United has the financial might to turn Dybala’s head. I suspect the Old Lady will have a fight on their hands to retain Pogba, so a sale of Dybala might be unavoidable. They won’t be able to turn down two colossal bids in the same window.

That could be good news for United. While Dybala isn’t the physically dominant centre forward that Mourinho has typically sought, he is a handful in the box. He’s a world-class finisher and can create space out of thin air with the ball at his feet. He’s dangerous enough for Mourinho to ignore any potential style clash.

Paulo Dybala would require a massive transfer bid, but Manchester United have the cash. It would just be a matter of whether or not the Premier League giants fancied him enough to throw open their check books.
