1. Romelu Lukaku

Bringing Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United would provide Jose Mourinho with an opportunity to correct one of his biggest transfer mistakes. He let the talented Belgian go at Chelsea, but could help him reach his full potential at Old Trafford.

Despite all of Everton’s struggles this season, Lukaku has performed quite well. His 16 goals lead the Toffees on the season and he’s contributed a healthy five assists as well. He has been the a real danger man for Roberto Martinez’s squad.

The fact that he’s had an excellent season and Everton still find themselves in the bottom half of the Premier League table has to frustrate Lukaku massively. It could certainly lead to a move away from Merseyside this summer.

United would be a logical landing-place for him. They will be in the market for a classic centre forward and he’s a proven Premier League commodity. It’s easy to forget that he’s still just 22-years-old as well. He could easily occupy the number nine position at Old Trafford for years to come.

The only question is whether or not Lukaku still harbors any resentment towards Mourinho over his treatment at Chelsea. The two have reportedly been on good terms since their split, and football is, after all, a business. Both would have to see the potential benefits of working with one another again at United.

Everton can protest and claim they won’t sell Lukaku at any price, but United can make them an offer they can’t refuse. If you can’t break the bank for a 22-year-old centre forward who’s already shown he can score tons of goals in the Premier League, I’m not sure who you are saving the cash for. Mourinho and Lukaku at Manchester United would be a dangerous combination.
