Exploit Bayern’s injuries to Jerome Boateng, Javier Martinez, and Holger Badstuber

Bayern and Juventus have both been blighted by injuries this season but at least they have been spread out across different positions for the Italians. Players like Claudio Marchisio and Martin Caceres have missed or will miss significant time this season.

The German club also suffered injuries all over the field but all of their injured attackers such as Franck Ribery, Mario Gotze, and Thiago Alcantara are back in action. Where they are truly suffering now is in central defense.

With injuries to Jerome Boateng, Javier Martinez, and Holger Badstuber, Bayern Munich only have one true centerback left on the squad. Unfortunately it is loanee Serdar Tasci who looked off the pace against SV Darmstadt on the weekend and cannot be trusted against Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala.

Many believe that this will force Pep to play youngster Joshua Kimmich and utility man David Alaba in central defense. This will give Bayern plenty of pace in central defense but may cause problems on set piece situations, which leads us to our next point.
