4. Rudy Gestede

This one is for all of the Tottenham fans who claim that Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t have enough of a “plan B” to succeed at the highest level. The purchase of Rudy Gestede would certainly provide Poch with a different attacking option off the bench.

Gestede is a specialist at attacking the ball in the air and finishing chances with his head. If you’re looking for a well-rounded attacker then you can look somewhere else. Gestede is a one trick pony, but his one trick can be very effective.

Think of him as a Peter Crouch type player for Tottenham. He’d never be counted on to start a ton of matches, but he could be a difference-maker off the bench in close games. At the very least, Spurs could certainly use another striker to provide Harry Kane some rest. Gestede is at the very least a serviceable back-up Premier League striker.

The French striker hasn’t exactly been prolific this season, with just four goals total, but two have come from the substitute’s bench. I’m inclined to excuse his lack of production due to the lack of attacking quality playing alongside him.

Signing Rudy Gestede wouldn’t excite many Tottenham fans, but he could provide useful cover for Harry Kane in a pinch.
