5. Will fatigue from Europe competitions be a factor?

Both teams played in Europe this week and fatigue will surely be a factor in this game.

Arsenal had a tough time in the Champions League as they lost 2-0 to Barcelona at home. The Gunners had numerous chances and made the Catalan side sweat but two Leo Messi goals in 12 minutes essentially killed off the tie. Arsenal need to score three goals in the Camp Nou if they want to go through to the quarterfinals. It’s easier than said as Arsenal will likely be headed out of the Round of 16 once again.

Manchester United meanwhile, had a better time in the Europa League. Coming into the second leg against FC Midtjylland down 2-1, United were able come with a 6-3 aggregate score line at the end of the leg. Although they gave up a goal to begin the game, two goals from youngster Marcus Rashford were enough to spark the Red Devils back into the game. Memphis Depay finished off the tie with a great goal and Man U are now in the Round of 16.

Both teams played in some tough ties especially for United who played on Thursday compared to Arsenal who played on Tuesday. Fatigue will be a factor coming into this game. Let’s see who starts and who doesn’t.
