If Real Madrid does go through with their plans to sell James Rodriguez, these five Premier League sides will make a strong push to sign him

I think it’s borderline insanity that Real Madrid is reportedly prepared to give up on James Rodriguez this summer, but I don’t get a vote in the matter. If they really do sell the Colombian star, there won’t be any shortage of Premier League suitors ready to take him off Real’s hands.

Rodriguez’s talent is undeniable. Even if he has failed to meet the sky-high expectations placed upon him in La Liga, there’s no doubt he has world-class ability. The question isn’t whether or not they’ll be Premier League interest in him, it’s a matter of how many Premier League sides can mount a serious bid for his services.

The talented attacker is, after all, still just 24 years of age so his best playing days should be ahead of him. He burst onto the scene at the last World Cup and Real Madrid pounced on him. His struggles in La Liga are more a product of the ball dominating talent he plays with rather than his own inadequacies.

Any Premier League club would love to add James to their starting 11, but he won’t come cheap. As Playing for 90 writer Tarek A reported earlier this week, the Spanish giants want to sell Rodriguez to fund a number of other transfer moves. He isn’t going to be in the price range of Norwich or Bournemouth.

This list represents the best five destinations for Rodriguez of the team’s that can afford him. He’d be a terrific addition for Crystal Palace, but you won’t find them in this piece. Click on to discover the five best, realistic, Premier League transfer destinations for James Rodriguez.
