3. Chelsea

Projecting James Rodriguez into the Chelsea lineup is a little challenging given the uncertainty of their managerial situation, but it’d be a shock if they didn’t make a strong bid. He would be a perfect replacement for Eden Hazard if the Belgian does leave the club as many expect he will this summer.

Rodriguez could immediately go into the Chelsea lineup as a like for like replacement for Hazard. He is capable of playing any position in the attacking midfield and, like Hazard, thrives with the ball at his feet. Chelsea fans would hope that his effort level would be more consistent than their current enigmatic number 10.

No matter who the manager happens to be, Chelsea loves to attract world-class attacking talent and Rodriguez certainly qualifies. He wouldn’t just replace Hazard in the lineup, he’d also help the club replace the star power void left by Jose Mourinho’s departure.

Chelsea certainly have the financial clout to pursue Rodriguez to the fullest as well. They wouldn’t be put off by any price that the La Liga giants might throw out there. If they make up their minds they want Rodriguez, he could very well end up starring at Stamford Bridge.
