2. Arsenal

If James Rodriguez hits the open market, it might be enough to tempt Arsene Wenger to open up the Gunner coffers. He could combine with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to make one of the Premier League’s most devastating attacking mid fields.

Some might argue that the third member of the club’s attacking trio needs to have a little more defensive ability, but I think they could easily protect the group with two strong defensive midfielders. It’s not as if the other team would see much of the ball with these three stars working together under Wenger’s management.

Another huge plus of adding Rodriguez to the club, would be the signal it would send to Sanchez and Ozil. Both men have been somewhat reluctant to commit their futures to the club due to questions about Arsenal’s ambition. Adding James would be a huge statement to both men that the club is going to financially commit to compete at the highest level.

Arsenal’s biggest need this summer will be to find a world-class number nine, but the third spot in their attacking midfield trio could use some attention as well. Theo Walcott isn’t the answer and Joel Campbell isn’t quite ready. Adding James Rodriguez would give them three world-class attacking options to trot out at the Emirates every week.
