2. Will David Ospina step up in goal for Arsenal?

Things went from bad to worse for Arsenal in their loss to Swansea City when starting goalie Petr Cech went down to injury in stoppage time. Going up to the Spurs penalty box in stoppage time for a corner, Cech seemed to suffer an injury as he held his leg running back. He has been ruled out of the game for this one and David Ospina will get the start in goal. It will be the first missed league game for Petr Cech.

Ospina played a lot last year but lost his starting spot when Arsenal signed Cech this summer. He has played in a couple of FA Cup games and some UCL games but he hasn’t seen any action in Premier League or significant Champions League action. It also won’t be good for Ospina that he will be missing Laurent Koscielny, Arsenal’s best defender.

Ospina is a solid goalie and usually plays well, one who starts for his country Columbia but he has his moments. He had an own goal against Olympiakos in the Champions League back in September that was a certain head scratcher. Without his best defender and an already shaky back line, it may be a long night for Ospina.
