Danny Rose vs. Nacho Monreal

Arsenal fans don’t have a lot of fondness for Tottenham left back after his goal scoring debut against the Gunners. The match-up between he and Nacho Monreal represents a significant contrast in styles between the rival clubs.

Rose relies on athleticism, will and power to bend opponents into submission. His lack of skill on the ball prevents him from being a true world-class option at his position, but he won’t get outworked by anyone. In a rivalry match like this, Rose will need to keep his feet on the ground (literally and figuratively) to give his best performance.

Monreal, on the other hand, is typically one of the cooler heads for Arsenal. He will remain composed even in the heat of danger, and his skill can provide real challenges for the opposition. In many ways, he’s the complete opposite of Rose.

Ultimately, Rose could be the man of the match, or he could be sent off after a rash challenge in the match’s third minute. That gives Monreal the edge for me, given his coolness under pressure.
