1. Can the Romans take advantage of their chances in this leg?

Like stated earlier, this is “Mission Impossible” for Roma. Saying that phrase brings back memories of the 2005 Champions League final when Liverpool came back from 3-0 to tie and beat AC Milan. When Xabi Alonso scored the equalizing goal at 3-3 commentator Clive Tyldesley commentated “And Mission Impossible has been accomplished”.The last team to come back from a 2-0 deficit like that in the Champions League was Barcelona in 2012.  It will surely feel like a miracle if Roma are able to pull this off.

Now Roma had numerous chances to make this less of a mountain to climb way back in the first leg. The Romans had numerous opportunities but weren’t able to capitalize. If they were able to get one goal, it would have changed the complexion of the tie. Salah and company had numerous chances of goals. Shots that went just wide, balls down the wing that just went out-of-bounds. They were unlucky with the Florenzi non-call but they were also wasteful. Roma should have scored in Rome. Now they have score at least twice in Madrid. Look for them to push a lot of men forward and look for the midfielders to push up as well.

They have to be wary of the Madrid counterattack as Ronaldo and Bale will be off to the races if Roma lose the ball too easily. Then all bets are off and Roma will be cut through like a knife through butter. It’s a dangerous game they are playing but it’s one they have to play.
