4. Christian Eriksen

In the absence of Dele Alli in the attacking midfield, the performance of Christian Eriksen is going to be crucial for the Spurs attack. If they are going to secure a vital away goal, you can bet that Eriksen will be heavily involved.

The Dane has been in good form for Spurs as of late, but comes off a pretty average performance against Arsenal in the North London Derby. He’ll be desperate to get back on track, and perhaps even back on the score sheet.

In contrast to Wimmer, the more you notice Eriksen in the match, the better he is playing. He’ll need to see a lot of the ball to unlock Spurs attackers like Harry Kane and Erik Lamela. Getting him a couple of free kick opportunities in a dangerous position would be advisable for Spurs as well.

Dortmund’s midfield will do their best to keep the ball away from the Tottenham number 10, but his willingness to run for days makes him especially difficult to mark. Eriksen will need to add quality in the final third to his high effort level if Spurs are going to gain anything from this match.
