3. Jorge Campos

In the 1990’s many players had visually symbolic things we remembered about them. Carlos Valderrama had the hair and Jorge Campos had the very bright goalkeeper attire. Campos always stood out on the field, not only for the extremely bright keeper jersey’s but also his ability to leap and make fantastic saves.

Jorge was not your typical keeper in stature, at only 5’6″ he was well undersized for his position. That didn’t stop him, he went on to have a long and successful career playing for five different clubs in Mexico and two stops in MLS.

Campos was part of the LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire in the leagues inaugural years. Jorge only made 27 appearances in MLS, but his popularity was unhinged as he was well-recognized for his self-designed clothing.

One thing many don’t know, or may not remember, Campos was also on heck of a striker. He was a rarity and showcased his versatility in which in any one game he would start at goalkeeper and then towards the end of the match he’s playing striker trying to score a winning goal.

Campos last saw the field in 2004, but he will always be remembered for his rare skills while wearing bright colors and making huge leaps to make incredible saves.
