Mario Gotze would be a huge boost to Jurgen Klopp’s starting 11 at Liverpool
When Jurgen Klopp was announced as the new manager at Liverpool, many of their fans started to dream about the dynamic attacking players that would flock to Anfield. That hasn’t happened yet, but if Mario Gotze makes his way to Liverpool this summer, those dreams will be coming true.

Speculation about Gotze possibly heading to Liverpool has run rampant after the German star’s admission that he communicates with Klopp via text. The World Cup winner just made his return from a long injury with Bayern, but isn’t expected to sign a new deal with the German giants next season.
If he’s cleared to leave Bayern this summer then Liverpool will undoubtedly make a strong push for him. He’s one of Klopp’s favorites from their time together at Dortmund, and he’s just the sort of young, bright attacker that the German manager will want to build his squad around at Liverpool.
Klopp has experienced success in his early days at Liverpool but is still short of a world-class attacking presence to put real pressure on opposing defenses. Most pundits and fans attribute this to the club’s struggles at the striker spot, but some blame also needs to go to the impotence of the third attacking midfield position. Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana have been steady, but the third spot has been a tricky issue.
The squad has looked good when Roberto Firmino is able to play in the midfield alongside those two, but those occasions have been rare since the Brazilian has been needed as cover at striker. Even so, Gotze would walk into Liverpool’s starting 11 without any real question. His talent would likely push Lallana to the Anfield bench.
That’s not a shot at the English international, it’s just the reality of Gotze’s transcendent talent. He is a world-class attacker who can create chances out of thin air. The fact that he’s already familiar with Klopp’s high-press system would only make him more attractive from Liverpool’s perspective.
