1. International Experience

Vardy has come up through the ranks of English football in a different way to a lot of top class footballers as he worked up from Non-League all the way to the top of the Premier League. Kane has worked up through the Tottenham academy and loan spells. This means that Kane has an advantage of Vardy due to his experience at different international levels.

Kane has played for England at all youth levels and now senior level for England and has proven to be a fantastic goalscorer at each level. This puts Vardy at a disadvantage because he hasn’t got the experience of playing in high pressured international games and hasn’t proven whether he can deal with the pressure that international football brings.

Whereas, Kane has scored at every level and has made a great start to first team international football, so it seems that the pressure doesn’t bother him, similar to the pressure it brings being Tottenham’s leading man.

This reason could prove vital in the summer when Roy Hodgson has to pick a striker and I believe he will pick Kane due to his experience and overall performance is better than Vardy’s. However, I expect them both to play a big part in France in the summer and I expect Kane to lead the line for England as he has proven to be England’s best goalscorer over the last two seasons.
