It was a furious comeback by Bayern Munich to come from a two goal deficit to defeat Juventus 6-4 on aggregate to advance to the quarterfinals

It was easily the best Champions League game this season as Bayern Munich defeated Juventus 4-2 in extra time to advance to the quarterfinals on a 6-4 aggregate scoreline.

It was the perfect start for Juventus as they quickly got two away goals from Paul Pogba and Juan Cuadrado to give them a 2-0 lead and a 4-2 lead on aggregate on the night. Both of those goals were on the counterattack and it looked like Juve were going to pull off the impossible and beat Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

But two goals from Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski with the last one in stoppage time, tied up the game 2-2 and sent the game into extra time. There Bayern Munich took over as super subs Thiago and Kingsley Coman scored to make it a 4-2 game. It was especially sweet for Coman, who is on loan from Juventus at the moment.

Juventus had chances at the end of the game but couldn’t convert in the dying moments of extra time. In the end it was heartbreak for Juventus and jubilation for Bayern Munich. Let’s take a look at five things we learned from this game.
