4. Juventus show their the best on the counter

Outside of Barcelona, there may not be a better team that strikes on the counter than Juventus in Europe. They showed it tonight against Bayern Munich. With the Bavarians controlling much of the possession in this game, Juventus had to strike on the counter to even have a chance of winning this game. They had to be able to absorb the Bayern pressure and turn it against them. That is exactly what they did.

The first goal was not really a counterattack but it come off a poor turnover by the Bayern defense and Paul Pogba found himself shooting at an open goal and the Frenchmen didn’t miss. The second goal however, was a pure counterattack goal. Off an interception in their own half, the ball was quickly played to Alvaro Morata, who had a splendid game for Juve.

The youngster who was key in their run last year, was able to muscle off and get past defenders before slipping it to a sprinting Juan Cuadrado,. Cuadrado then shot faked a Bayern defender out of the arena and calmly put one past Manuel Neuer for the second goal and all of a sudden it was 2-0.

There were a lot of things that Juventus did right in this game and the counterattack was one of them.
