3. Mohamed Elneny had a great night for Arsenal

After a solid game against Tottenham in the North London Derby, Mohamed Elneny got the start in the midfield for the Gunners. Elneny put on a pretty good performance for a player who has just started out with Arsenal.

Sitting in the midfield with Mathieu Flamini being the main holding midfielder, Elneny was allowed to move up in the midfield and help out in the attack. He was there in the box and created chances for Arsenal. He also showed ability to track back and help out in the midfield trying to cover Lionel Messi. It wasn’t a perfect performance but a solid one from Elneny.

By the way it looks, Elneny is the future of the Arsenal midfield. Along with Francis Coquelin, Elneny can sit with Coquelin and form a solid duo in the midfield. Both have the motor to play box to box as they can move up in attack and also get back. Coquelin is more defensive and fearless than Elneny so it allows one to go up and the other to cover. They are young and still have ways to go but the future is bright in the midfield for Arsenal. Plus his goal was a very solid shot.
