1. Momentum heading into Euro 2016?

Both teams have uncertainties heading into Euro 2016 and these are the games to help sort them out. For Spain it’s the lack of a solid attacker meanwhile Italy will be looking for an injection of youth. Along with the distraction of the swirling rumors of Antonio Conte leaving for Chelsea this summer, Italy need to work out their younger players.

With the likes of Rugani joining the squad and fan favorites like Pirlo and De Rossi not, it have seemed that Conte has moved on from some of the veterans. It will be a tough decision with the fans but it was one he had to have made.

Spain will look to figure out who their true striker is this week. With Costa out, they will also have a chance to view potential backups as well and these games could determine which attackers they bring to Euro 2016. All five of the strikers have a chance even Arduriz who is the elder statesmen of the group. Ever since the retirement of David Villa, Spain have failed to find an out and about striker that can lead by himself.

Costa has proven that on the international stage just yet otherwise he would be the favorite to land the starting job in Euro 2016. But the race is wide open in Spain as anyone can get the starting spot.
