5. Alvaro Morata

Likelihood: 3/10

Alvaro Morata will likely be recalled to Real Madrid this summer, either to be sold on or kept as a rotation option. However, over Florentino Perez’s tenure, there have been few Madrid youth given a long run in the first team, and Perez would likely prefer a Galactico signing, like Aubameyang or Lewandowski.

This could open up the door for Arsenal swooping in and signing him up. Morata has stated that he does not know where he will be playing next year, and the door is open for Arsenal to sign him, although it will be at a significant price.

However, Arsene Wenger should be wary before attempting to sign Morata, as his goalscoring record is relatively unimpressive. This season in the Serie A, Morata has scored every 283 minutes, while Giroud scores about twice as often in the Premier League while also offering more of a physical preference.

Despite that, Morata has shown a penchant for scoring in important games, as seen in the Champions League last year against Real Madrid, and his lack of goals this season may be due to being in a rotation with Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic. Anyhow, Morata will not come cheap, and Wenger knows he will certainly be paying for potential if he signs the on-loan Juventus striker.
