Which Premier League Players Are Headed To Euro 2016?
By Tarek Hisham
Arsenal – 12 Players
Kieran Gibbs (England)
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (England)
Theo Walcott (England)
Danny Welbeck (England)
Jack Wilshere (England)
Santi Cazorla (Spain)
Olivier Giroud (France)
Laurent Koscielny (France)
Petr Cech (Czech Republic)
Tomas Rosicky (Czech Republic)
Aaron Ramsey (Wales)
Mesut Ozil (Germany)
Several Arsenal players are reportedly on their way to Euro 2016 but their selection would cause considerable grumbling from Three Lions faithful. Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere are favorites to be selected but with so much young talent at Tottenham and Leicester many feel they would be left off by a more daring manager.
Roy Hodgson has never been a risk taker and may opt for experienced players, though he did select and play quite a few youngsters in the 2014 World Cup. He has several Gunners to choose from and could call on them again but it all depends on his philosophy going in to the tournament.
Injuries will also play a big part in team selections as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tomas Rosicky, and Santi Cazorla would normally be included but are doubtful because of their knocks. Rosicky has been a talisman for the Czech Republic in the past and Cazorla has found his way in to a crowded Spain midfield but fitness issues could see them left out.
Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Petr Cech, Olivier Giroud, and Laurent Koscielny are automatic selections for their respective countries and should be on their way to France as well.
