Liverpool needs a talent infusion prior to next season

Jurgen Klopp’s first year in charge of Liverpool has largely been a mixed bag. There have been some moments of real encouragement, but the team isn’t achieving what either Klopp or the Anfield supporters believe they should

That fact will lead the transfer committee at Liverpool to examine their roster very closely this off-season. Klopp and company will be keen to unload some dead wood and import some players who fit Klopp’s playing style better than his current squad. Expect serious roster turnover at Anfield.

Fortunately for Klopp and company, they have the credibility built up with the fan base to ship anyone out-of-town they deem fit. The energetic German manager’s style has resonated well with the Liverpool supporters which means he’ll be given license to do anything he deems necessary this summer in the transfer market.

The question really isn’t whether or not there will be significant departures, it’s more a question of how many there will be. Without further delay, we examine the top five players that Jurgen Klopp must upgrade to take Liverpool to the promised land next season.
