1. Christian Benteke

I realize this puts me at odds with most Liverpool fans, but I still believe that Christian Benteke is a good Premier League striker. I also believe that Jurgen Klopp is a good Premier League manager. However, I know that these two men are no good together.

It’s fair to say that Benteke’s struggles at Anfield predated Klopp’s arrival, but the German manager certainly hasn’t helped him find his form. The huge Belgian front man spends much of his time on the pitch looking utterly lost under Klopp. That says nothing of the obvious sideline tension between the two strong-willed men.

The point is that something must be done to remove this distraction from the team. It’s clear that Klopp isn’t going anywhere, therefore Benteke must be sold. I don’t foresee many Liverpool fans shedding tears on his way out of Anfield.

The question them becomes whether or not Liverpool can trust their striker position to Daniel Sturridge. While the Englishman can be absolutely electric on his day, I think betting on him to stay healthy for an entire season would be extremely foolish. Instead, they must spend significant funds to entice a star striker to lead the Liverpool line next year.
